All courses involve an evaluation system of students that has the following two components

  1. Continuous Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) accounting for 30%of the final grade that a student gets in a course
  2. End-term Examination (ETE) - accounting for the remaining 70% of the final grade that a student gets in a course.

(I) Continuous Comprehensive Assessment (CCA): This would have the two components:

(a) Classroom Attendance - Each student will have to attend a minimum of 75% lectures / practical. A student having less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to appear in End term Examination.
- Provided that exemption from 75% attendance will be given to those participating in prescribed co-curricular activities (e.g., NCC, NSS, Youth Festivals, Sports, etc.) to the extent of 25%

Those having greater than 75% attendance will be awarded CCE marks as follows:

> 75% but < 80% 1 mark
> 80% but < 85% 2 marks
> 85% but < 90% 3 marks
> 90% but < 95% 4 marks
> 95% but < 100% 5 marks

(b) Mid Term Tests - There will be one midterm test to be conducted approximately when 2/3 of the syllabus has been covered. The midterm test will be for 15 marks.

(c) Seminar /Assignment - The remaining 10 marks of the CCA will be awarded on the basis of Seminar / assignment.
(II) End-Term Examination (ETE) The remaining 70% of the final grade of the student in a course will be on the basis of an End term Examination (ETE) that will be for three-hour duration and will be covering the whole syllabus of the course.
For practical subjects 50 marks for theory and 20 marks for practical out of 100.
Note: A student will have to pass both components (i.e., CCA & ESE) separately to become eligible to be declared successful in a course.
For Practical subject = 50 Theory + 20 marks practical + 30 marks CCA
For non-Practical subjects = 70 Theory + 30 CCA
